Board President

Mr. Pertuz attended the University of Miami where he received a masters degree in Engineering. He served four years in the USAF only then to begin his professional career in the the healthcare industry. Retiring in 2010 he found himself relocating in Fernandina Beach. 

Mr. Pertuz joined NHFH in 2011 and was on the board by the end of 2013. He states that “ There is a significant need for affordable housing in our area, so I am pleased to report that Nassau Habitat has been building homes for low income families in Fernandina since 1995. “ He believes in NHFH’s mission and is happy to contribute. 

We are blessed to have his time volunteering on our jobsite and as our Board President.

Mr. Moore has been with NHFH since October, 2018 and serves as our Treasurer.  He retired from AT&T in December 2010 and became involved with HFH in New Jersey shortly thereafter where he served as Treasurer while chairing both the Finance and Restore Committees.  Mr. Moore believes that providing decent affordable housing helps strengthen communities in many important ways, especially by enabling  homeowners to achieve the strength and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves and their families.

We here at NHFH appreciate him greatly.

Secretary

Mr. Morrill worked for thirty-five years in the Mental Health Systems in Maine. More recently Mr. Morrill worked as the Chief Operating Officer in two of the state’s psychiatric hospitals. After retiring he found himself and his wife Diane moving to Fernandina Beach in 2012.

He has been volunteering with NHFH since 2013 and has helped us complete 10 homes in Nassau County. Joining our board in 2018  he has not only been a dedicated volunteer in his work ethic but in creating meaningful relationships with all of our volunteers and homeowners that he has come in contact with. We are more than happy to have him as a part of our organization.

 Mr. Haynes has been a realtor in Nassau County for fifteen years. He has been in the real estate business for forty years as a broker owner in Georgia and a partner in a real estate development Co.

Having Joined our board in 2016 Mr. Haynes’ main focus with Habitat is in the area of land acquisition. He wants to help ensure that Habitat has enough building lots to continue providing affordable housing in Nassau County for many Years to come.

His presence on our board is something we have previously, and continue to benefit from.

Mrs. Gregory has been a part of NHFH since November of 2019. She has been the Assistant Vice President at Southeastern Bank for almost 5 years now with almost 20 years in banking. Mrs. Gregory states that Nassau Habitat for Humanity “ is an organization who’s mission makes a difference in our community and stood out to me as somewhere I should seek out volunteer opportunities which align with my banking career and expertise” adding “I’m very glad to be a part of the team” and we are more than happy to have her.

Mr. Monzon began his career as an entrepreneur in his native Colombia, moving to the United States in 1981, where he worked for Dow Chemical, Equistar (now Lyondell) and International Paper. He obtained a chemistry degree from the National University of Colombia and a master degree in chemistry from Central Michigan University. He is a graduate of the “Mahler Advanced Management Skills Program” and is certified in neuro- linguistic programming and several personality diagnostics. Mr. Monzon is retired and a resident of Amelia Island.
