What is #GivingTuesday?
Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that engages communities around the world to give on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (November 30, 2021). Giving Tuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into an annual global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to donate, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. #GivingTuesday
Why is NHFH taking part?
There is no place like home for the holidays and at Nassau Habitat for Humanity, Inc. we believe that hard working families deserve a home of their own that is affordable and sustainable. This year we have joined #GivingTuesday in their effort to support and advocate for affordable housing in communities around the world.
In our community the need for affordable housing has skyrocketed at an alarming pace as the price of real estate climbs to new heights. To fulfill this need Nassau Habitat for Humanity has made a five-year commitment to increase the number of houses we build annually from two to six by 2026. This is a 300% increase in our capacity, and we needs your help to meet these needs in our community.
How can I donate to NHFH?
Everyone's gift is important on Giving Tuesday and we need you to make someone's dream of a home become a reality. In the spirit of Giving Tuesday, please join us on Tuesday November 30th. Our warmest wishes for a wonderful Holiday and our heartfelt thanks for your generosity.
