2022 Board Members
Mr. Moore has been with NHFH since October, 2018 and serves as our President. He retired from AT&T in December 2010 and became involved with HFH in New Jersey shortly thereafter where he served as Treasurer while chairing both the Finance and Restore Committees. Mr. Moore believes that providing decent affordable housing helps strengthen communities in many important ways, especially by enabling homeowners to achieve the strength and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves and their families.
We here at NHFH appreciate him greatly.
Born and raised in Atlanta, GA and a UGA graduate. I started my coaching/leadership development company BizHelp Consulting 9 years ago. My husband David and I have raised two great kids: Molly who works for UNC Football and Jack who attends FSU. We live in a historic home downtown Fernandina and love walking down Centre St and talking with all of the visitors.
One Interesting Fact: I worked for the same summer camp for 25 summers!
I have lived in Fernandina Beach for 11 years, and joined Habitat in early 2011. I was from New Jersey and went to college in the midwest, where I stayed. I attended medical school in Milwaukee, and had a teaching practice for 35 years, first at St. Louis University, then at a teaching hospital. My wife and I have traveled Europe and went to cooking school in Italy. Working at Habitat is my way of giving back. I’m involved on most parts of construction, but like electrical and finishing kitchens the best. I have been on the board since early 2012.
Fun fact: I collect electric trains and have an operating layout.

His presence on our board is something we have previously, and continue to benefit from.
Mr. Pertuz attended the University of Miami where he received a masters degree in Engineering. He served four years in the USAF only then to begin his professional career in the the healthcare industry. Retiring in 2010 he found himself relocating in Fernandina Beach.
Mr. Pertuz joined NHFH in 2011 and was on the board by the end of 2013. He states that “ There is a significant need for affordable housing in our area, so I am pleased to report that Nassau Habitat has been building homes for low income families in Fernandina since 1995. “ He believes in NHFH’s mission and is happy to contribute.
We are blessed to have his time volunteering on our jobsite and as our prior Board President.
