"My husband Wayne and I heard about Nassau Habitat for Humanity in 2009, and were invited to come work with the team one day.  I loved it and have been working with them ever since.  I believe I was the first woman to be a permanent member of the building team, the first house I worked on being No. 27 on 13th Terrace in Fernandina Beach."

"As best as I can remember, I started in either spring or fall of 2000.  I believe it was on house #9.  At that time, there were a lot of volunteers from Amelia Island Plantation, especially those who went to the Amelia Island Chapel.  Fred Geig coordinated an annual giving campaign that usually produced around 30K a year.  One of my AIP friends got me down there. It was a fun group at the time.

In real life, I was a real estate lawyer working with development companies and foreign investors.  For about 10 years, we and some others owned the Amelia Island Yacht Basin."
